Chihiro Onitsuka - Insomnia (9 March 2001)

Insomnia is Chihiro Onitsuka’s debut album. It was an immediate success, and deservedly so. Most notably for Onitsuka’s lyrical abilities, which stand out from most.

However, I find it difficult to talk about Chihiro Onitsuka. In 2004 she attempted suicide via drug overdose, and then in 2010 was beaten pretty badly by her boyfriend at the time—as in, like, bone-breaking ‘badly’. Nonetheless she continues to create music, and that is her most impressive quality. Writing about past like I do on many uploads would be too filled with tragic events for my tastes. So instead let’s just focus on the music together.
