Fanny were true rock pioneers who broke down barriers for women in rock music. Fanny is famous for being the first all-female group to sign a contract with a major record label. The group consisted of four women, all of whom were great singers and instrumentalists. They never considered their sexuality when it came to the popularity and sales of their music. They described themselves as musicians first and women second. But the fact that they were women and they achieved success that no other girl group had ever thought of before is remarkable in itself
