Lacuna
Coil est un groupe de heavy metal italien, originaire de Milan. Le
groupe est formé en 1994, d'abord sous le nom de Sleep of Right puis
d'Ethereal. À l'origine, ils jouaient un style de metal atmosphérique
teinté de metal gothique mais ils tendent aujourd'hui à évoluer
progressivement vers la sphère du metal alternatif avec leurs derniers
opus.



Leur musique s'inspire du mouvement gothique, utilisant des lignes de
guitare mélodieuses, alternant chant lourd et clair, avec une légère
influence pop. D'après eux, le groupe est influencé par d'autres tels
que Paradise Lost, Tiamat, Septicflesh ou encore Type O Negative.
